Welcome and thank you for visiting the website of Trout Creek Swiss Mountain Dogs. We are located in the Pacific Northwest and live in the heart of the beautiful Columbia River Gorge eight miles north of Carson, Washington in Skamania County. My breeding program was focused on producing exceptional quality Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs bred to excel at working and performance events, in the conformation ring and above all else, at being wonderful family companions. At the current time I don't plan on breeding any future litters.
I have been very active in the breed since 1998 when my beautiful foundation bitch BISS Ch. Snowy Mountain Flurry CGC, TT, HCT, ROM joined our family. My breeding program was dedicated to the betterment of the breed through selective breeding practices and the education of prospective and new puppy owners. I strove to produce dogs with the qualities I value most which include health, temperament, longevity, soundness of mind and body, correct structure and breed type who have a willingness to work at the tasks they were originally bred to do.

Throughout my years in the breed I have found gratification from serving the swissy community in various areas. Currently I'm a board member for the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Rescue Foundation. In the past I have acted as show chair for regional GSMDs specialties, held various board positions for the Cascade Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Club, served on the Board of Directors for the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Club of America, judged sweepstakes at our 2013 GSMDCA National Specialty, and have lead many pack hikes as the pack coordinator. I regularly attended AKC conformation shows with my swissies in Washington and Oregon and when time allowed I thoroughly enjoyed draft/carting work and herding. The Pacific Northwest offers many wonderful outdoor options and on a daily basis I enjoy hiking with my retired dogs.

Trout Creek Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs is located in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge in Southwest Washington on the Oregon border approximately one hour from the Portland, OR metro area and few short hours from Seattle. The majority of Trout Creek swissy puppies reside in the Pacific Northwest in Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, California, Utah and Nevada, however there are many throughout the United States and Canada. Trout Creek Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs produced well-rounded GSMDs conforming to the AKC breed standard making exceptional family members, have winning qualities for the show ring and are willing workers for the various performance and working venues. Health and wellness always a top priority, only dogs that have passing health clearances and met CHIC requirements were used in Trout Creek’s breeding program. |
