2019 TROUT CREEK NEWS
FINAL SHOW OF 2019!
Nash and Luke took a trip to the East Coast to attend the final show of the year in Allentown, PA. Nash ended the year on a high note with a lovely Best of Breed win, a Group 3 placement and also rounded out the year as the #1 Greater Swiss Mountain Dog in breed points for the second year in a row! This is no small task and I'm proud how they have represented themselves in a variety competition. Thank you Luke & Rowan for making Nash a priority especially around the holidays, to Kelly for providing transportation, and to Chloe for showing Nash in group on Sunday while Luke was on his way home.

The last local show of the year brings in the holidays with festive sweaters and three Best of Breed wins for Nash!
TURKEY CIRCUIT
Nash and Miles spent the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in California. Nash picked up two best of breed wins and Miles picked up her second major going Best of Opposite Sex from the classes over specials! Thank you to Luke and Corie!
PACK HIKES
Odyssey earned her Novice Working Pack Dog title this weekend! Huge thank you to Knico for taking Ody this weekend as her hiking buddy - she made it possible! Nash earned legs 3 & 4 of his Working Pack Dog title with Blake! Both covered 16 miles this weekend, good job!
NAPA VALLEY WINE CLUSTER
Miles went on her first big out of town trip to Napa to attend the Wine Country Kennel Club and she had a great experience! The first day she went Reserve Winners Bitch to a major following it up going Winners Bitch/Best of Winners/Best of Opposite Sex over a special for her first major and then on the last day she picked up another single point going Winners Bitch. Big thank you to Paula Robles and Corie Hebert for handling Miles!
GOLDEN GATE GSMD SPECIALTIES
A great trip down south for some of the extended Trout Creek family! Dash earned some qualifying points towards her FastCAT title, Luna earned a leg towards her CD title and also went High in Trial, Enzo (Tucker's boy) went Best Veteran at both specialties, and Nash won the Golden Gate GSMD Club Specialty and received a Group 3 placement!
PUMPKIN & DRAFTING DAYFall festivities at the Cascade GSMD Club Trick For A Treat event! Had fun visiting with several puppy homes, painting pumpkins and several first timers trying draft!

HERDING FUN DAYA super fun herding day hosted by the Cascade Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Club at Brigand's Hideout! Several Trout Creek puppies attended from various litters and it was neat to see them all! Wonderful to see Dave Viklund again too who worked with Rhea and Onna years prior.

WORKING GROUP 2Nash picks up a lovely Group 2 at Timberland Valley Dog Fanciers Association show - way to go! Great end to the weekend getting ready for Nash & Luke to head to the National Specialty in Ohio!

NEW CHRONICLE STATS!Yahoo! Nash continues the year as the #1 Greater Swiss Mountain Dog in breed points! He's been able to hold this ranking the entire year so far! So pleased with his continued success!

NATIONAL SPECIALTYSo proud of how Nash and Luke represented in Ohio at the 25th annual GSMDCA National Specialty! Nash and Luke represented at the Top 20 event for finishing the #1 Greater Swiss Mountain Dog for the 2018 looking like they polished team they are! At the National Specialty Nash earned an Award of Merit in huge entry of swissies! The following day at the GSMDCA Independent Specialty he also earned the 1st Award of Merit - thank you to Ashley for stepping in to handle him when Luke had to get back home. Thank you to everyone for the kind comments on Nash for the continued support!

CANINE CHRONICLE STATISTICSThe new Canine Chronicle statistics are out through July 31st and Nash has been able to maintain the #1 Greater Swiss Mountain Dog in breed points for the entire year of 2019 so far!
Additionally, he went Best of Breed all four days at the Mt. Rainier Working Dog Show and Olympic Kennel Club Shows in Enumclaw, WA |
AVA EARNS CDX!3rd leg in open obedience and new title! Ava (Mon x Sophie) got her CDX title. 191 points, 2nd place! So very proud of Ava and her owner Kristine for all they've accomplished so far and wishing them continued success on their next goal of Utility!

CLACKAMAS KENNEL CLUBWhat a great weekend at the local Clackamas Kennel Club show in Canby, OR! On Saturday, Nash went Best of Breed and Soleil went Best of Opposite and Best of Breed Owner Handled. On Sunday, Soleil was the big winner going Best of Breed and Nash went Best of Opposite Sex! Couldn't be more proud of these two!!
NEW CHRONICLE STATISTICS!Almost to the halfway point of the year and Nash continues as #1 Breed and is #2 All Breed! Of course none of this could happen without Luke & Rowan Baggenstos so a heartfelt thank you to them for their continued belief in Nash! JUNE - AVA ROCKING OBEDIENCE!Ava (Mon x Sophie) and her mom finished the requirements for her CD (Companion Dog) title this April and is already more than halfway to earning her CDX (Open Obedience title). This is HUGE accomplishment and I'm so proud of them! Way to go and keep up the great work!

Sincere appreciation to the other breeders I have worked with to achieve this level with breeding pairings and to puppy homes for making Trout Creek shine in the conformation and performance rings!

FEBRUARY - COVERED BRIDGE CLUSTERIt was a great weekend at the dog show in Albany, OR! New Champion "Hazen", New Grand Champion "Odyssey", and 4 Bests of Breed for Nash! Thank you again to Caleb Bloedel and Angela Merfeld for taking Hazen back in!
JANUARY - ROSE CITY CLASSICWhat a weekend! Nash Bests of Breed all four days of cluster including two Best in Specialty Show wins and a huge group 3 placement! In addition, Hazen went Best of Opposite Sex in Puppy Sweepstakes and Reserve Winners Dog at Speciality #1 and Soleil's first time out as special she went Select Bitch and earned and Award of Merit at the specialty shows!

APRIL - LEWISTON, IDTaking it easy in the month of April with one show weekend picking up four Bests of Breed wins in Lewiston, Idaho!
NEW SENN ADJANUARY - WESTERN WASHINGTON CLUSTERNash goes Bests of Breed all three days of the Western Washington Cluster in Puyallup, WA making the cut in group 2 days. Great first show weekend of the year!

MARCH - SEATTLE KENNEL CLUBNash, Hazen and Odyssey had a great time on their trip to Seattle for the Seattle Kennel Club Show and Meet the Breed booth! Nash picked up two nice Bests of Breed wins and made the cut in group getting some nice recognition. We were joined by several other Trout Creek homes (Porter, Sierra, Dash, Millie, Strider) and all were great ambassadors for the breed - thank you to their families for coming out and joining!
FEBRUARY - SWEETHEART SPECIALTYTrip down to Fresno, CA to Sweetheart GSMD Specialty. It was Onna's first time in the veteran ring and it was special showing her. On the way down we stopped in Corning, CA to visit with Nash's puppy "Hamilton" and were able to get some neat generation photos. I'd call it a successful trip! Onna went Best Veteran in Sweepstakes and Hazen went Winners Dog/Best of Winners/Best of Breed Owner Handled for a major!
